    What are Anti-Drug Antibodies?

Anti-drug antibodies (ADA) are antibodies produced by the immune system in response to a drug or other foreign substance. These antibodies, sometimes called anti-idiotype antibodies, can bind to the drug and either reduce its effectiveness, or cause an adverse reaction. ADA can also interfere with diagnostic tests, making it difficult to accurately measure drug levels in the body.

    Idiotype of Antibodies

The idiotype is the unique structure of the antibody. Each antibody has a unique idiotype that is determined by its amino acid sequence. This idiotype can be used and targeted to identify and differentiate between different antibodies.

    Detection of Anti-Drug Antibodies

ADA can be used to detect therapeutic antibodies in pharmacokinetics applications. They can also be used in research in a variety of methods, including ELISA, Western blot, and flow cytometry. ProteoGenix offers a variety of ADA that target its biosimilar antibodies.
