Anti-Tag antibodies: Introduction

Anti-Tag antibodies are immunoglobulins (Ig) that are produced in response to specific protein tags used to modify proteins for various purposes. These tags, such as His-Tag, Fc-Tag, and GST, allow for easier detection, purification, and analysis of proteins in laboratory experiments. Anti-Tag antibodies can be used to detect, isolate, and purify these tagged proteins.

His-Tag Antibodies

His-Tag antibodies recognize and bind to the protein tag known as the histidine tag. This tag is composed of a short sequence of six histidine residues and is used to modify proteins for purposes such as purification or detection.

Fc-Tag Antibodies

The Fc tag is composed of a short sequence of amino acids derived from the constant region of the immunoglobulin G (IgG) heavy chain and is used to modify proteins for purposes such as purification or detection. Fc-Tag antibodies can be used to detect and isolate proteins that have been modified with the Fc-Tag.

GST Antibodies

GST antibodies recognize and bind to the protein tag known as the glutathione S-transferase (GST) tag. This tag is composed of a short sequence of amino acids derived from the enzyme glutathione S-transferase and is used to modify proteins for purposes such as purification or detection.
